Bali Ocean Carbon was founded as part of a world wide movement, led by the world's first 'global environmentalist' Richard St Barbe Baker, that began in 1922 as Men of the Trees.
Bali Ocean Carbon is an organization dedicated to the restoration and conservation of marine ecosystems as a natural solution to the climate crisis. Building on the legacy of the global environmental movement “Men of the Trees,” we have adapted that vision to protect our “ocean forests”—such as seagrass beds and mangrove forests—which possess an extraordinary ability to absorb carbon emissions. We do not act alone. With a spirit of cooperation, we bring together diverse members of the community—from law enforcement officers and local youth to environmental experts—to get directly involved on the ground. Every seedling planted and every coastal area rehabilitated is a tangible expression of our dedication. We invite anyone who cares to join this sustainable movement, creating a harmonious balance between humanity and nature.
To be a pioneering startup in Indonesia that accelerates the restoration of coastal ecosystems and blue carbon through the integration of transparent technology, sustainable innovation, and cross-sector collaboration.
Developing an accurate Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) system to ensure the integrity of blue carbon data. We bridge corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives with concrete mangrove restoration efforts on the ground, while empowering the local coastal economy through measurable programs with long-term impact.
